WHO WE ARE

Child Nutrition Foundation (CNF) is a Bay area based NGO, committed to raising awareness and making grants to organizations that fight child malnutrition in India.

Despite India’s booming economic growth and increasing importance on the world map, the human development indicators remain abysmal. Nearly 47% of children under 5 are malnourished. That’s an estimated 6 million children who will sleep hungry, fall prey to preventable diseases or die each day. The factors are varied and complex. Poverty and access to food are only part of the cause.

Child Nutrition Foundation strives to combat this silent epidemic by enabling adequate nutrition and timely medical intervention to at-risk pregnant women and children in various stages of malnourishment.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

CNF believes in holistic care to combat the malaise of malnutrition in children.
By this, we mean not just providing treatment to children already in a state of malnourishment, but preventing malnutrition by ensuring the mother receives proper nutrition and care during pregnancy, promoting breastfeeding and the importance of cholostrum, educating family on sanitary habits, healthy cooking, immunizations and proper child care.

WHAT WE DO

Child Nutrition Foundation provides grants to reputed, personally vetted organizations in India that have a proven record of working to prevent and treat malnutrition.
In addition, we will also provide funding directly to beneficiaries (individuals, families, orphanages, malnutrition clinics, etc), as needed.
